The Freebies Reloaded

In this article, we will look at some of the best the App Store has to offer that I have yet to review, in terms of free Apps.

Tunnels

This, simply, is one of the most addictive apps in the app store.  And luckly for us, it’s free!  The objective, is to get as far as you can through the tunnel, without touching the walls.  You control the spaceship (left and right) with buttons found on the side of the screen.  The controls could be slightly more responsive, but it’s top notch anyways.  I’ve already put in about 3 hours into this game

3-Tuple

This game, like tunnels, is extremely addictive.  The interface, and artstyle is top-notch.  In the game, there are a number of cards face up on a table.  The objective is to match three cards with the same/or opposite characteristics (i.e. shape, colour, shade of colour, and number of them).  The game can last a long time, and yet can be fun for five minutes at a time.

Touch Pong

The name says it all.  This is a air hockey-like version of pong with touch controls.  The action can be a little slow at times, and it’s only two player, but when you really get into it, lots of fun can be had.  This is worth the free download.

Spinner (Prologue)

One of, if not the simplest game in the App Store so far, is Spinner Prologue.  Even though, as it stands, it is a demo, the full game has yet to be released.  But, with all the promices the developer has made, it may turn out to be the full game. You control a circle who is always moving towards your home button. You twist the circle by spinning your iPhone, to find the exit. All in all, it is, for sure, worth a download.

Matches

This game isn’t a new, special, never-before-seen concept of a game.  It’s just your average matching game, where the cards are flipped over, and you flip, two at a time, to match them all up.  What makes this game great is that it just plays really, really well.  It’s extremely simple, but extremely addictive.  Worth the download!

Stay tuned, because in the next couple of days, I’ll look at some of the worst the App Store has to offer that I have yet to review, in terms of free Apps!
