Review: GhostEX

GhostEX is a slow paced, 2D ghost hunting game for the iPhone and iPod touch. Out of all the AppStore games that I have played so far, this one is the…… well…. read the review and you will know what I mean.

Presentation

There really is no story line here. You’re trying to murder blue, white and red ghosts that live in an ugly haunted house during the middle of night. Why? That’s for you to decide!!

Score: 2

Graphics

GhostEX’s graphics are…. well, they might not be as good as you would hope. There is one level, and that level shows a 2D haunted house that was most likely drawn in AppleWorks. Ghosts just randomly show up in the same spots every few seconds, and then after you finally manage to shoot them, they go away. The ghosts were also drawn in AppleWorks.

Score: 1.5

Sound

Ehh…. not bad. Not good either – but not bad. The music is exactly what you would expect it to be – Halloween songs. One halloween song to be exact.

Score: 5.5

Gameplay

Well, you tap the ugly red ghosts about ten times until it actually goes away. Then you do it again except for the blue and white ones. Then you get your score that seems to always be 150. Then you realize that this game sucks.

Score: 1.5

Value

The one good thing about this game is that it only costs 1 dollar. But even at a dollar I want my money back. You can get much better games in the free section of the store.

Score: 0

Lasting Appeal

The game lasts about one twenty-second game, and then you get extremely bored of it. It may entertain some people for slightly longer, but not by much.

Score: 1

Overall

Overall this game sucks really freaking badly. That’s all I really need to say. Do not buy this game! I repeat: DO NOT BUY IT!! The developer has alot of work to do before this game is even half decent.
